Know better Port of Shenzhen

he Port of Shenzhen is one of the busiest and fastest growing ports in southern mainland China and the fourth busiest in the world behind Shanghai, Singapore and Hong Kong. As a container hub port and Special Economic Zone (SEZ), it is one of the most important ports in South China?s international trade. Yantian International Container Terminals, Chiwan Container Terminals, Shekou Container Terminals, China Merchants Port and Shenzhen Haixing are the major port terminals in Shenzhen. However, Shenzhen?s long term plan includes the construction of six new ports in order to integrate with the Port of Hong Kong.

? Volume 2010: 22.51 million TEUs

Geography:

The Port of Shenzhen is spread along Shenzhen city?s 260 km coastline in the southern region of the Pearl River Delta in China?s Guangdong province. It is separated by the Kowloon Peninsula into two areas: the eastern port and the western port.
